Jennifer Garam is a BRCA1-positive ovarian cancer survivor and advocate, blogger, and journalist. She’s documented her ovarian cancer treatment, prophylactic double mastectomy and recovery, and life after cancer and survivorship on Instagram at @jennifergaram, and her articles and essays have appeared in The Washington Post, Allure.com, and SELF.com, among others. She’s passionate about sharing her story; spreading awareness; and educating, empowering, and inspiring others.

Jennifer initially connected with BRCAStrong on Instagram, where she’s also found a supportive and vibrant cancer community. You can read about this and the rest of her mastectomy essentials in her recent blog post, “Mastectomy Must-Haves on a Budget.”
