In 2015, two weeks after undergoing a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy, I founded BRCAStrong. My daughter, Gabriela, who was just seven years old at the time, lovingly compared me to a butterfly, symbolizing the different phases of life I was navigating. Her comparison resonated deeply, and it became the inspiration for our organization’s mission of transformation and resilience.

All these resources are provided at no cost to the recipients, ensuring that every woman has access to the support she needs. To date, BRCAStrong has helped over 6,800 women, a testament to the power of community and solidarity.
Reflecting on Two Decades
As I reflect on my journey over the past two decades, I am filled with gratitude for the support and love I have received from my family, friends, and the incredible BRCAStrong community. Together, we have built a foundation of strength and hope, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and empowerment. #UnBRCAble
Today, on my Previvorversary, I celebrate not just my personal journey, but the collective journey of all the amazing women who have become a part of BRCAStrong. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.
Stay strong, stay inspired, and always remember: together, we are stronger.
